Cancer kidz Christmas party
As part of our Corporate Social Investment, we at TelePassport attended the Cancer Kidz Christmas party and bought gifts to brighten each child’s day and make it special. We also did a sponsorship for the Immanuel Old Age Home in Okahandja, where we sponsored the needed mattresses, 2 first Aid kits and food for their special Christmas dinner.

Winter is a time of year when all of us appreciate the joy of a warm meal and the comfort of a warm bed to crawl into when the sun's warmth leaves for the day. The reality is that there are many people who do not have the luxury of a regular warm meal, warm clothing and blankets to shelter them from the bitter cold. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable.
This is the reason TelePassport didn't hesitate to support the Namibia Area Round Table and Radio Wave, when they again staged their annual charity drive, 'The Winter Knights of the Round Table'. This initiative invites Namibian companies to show that they take their corporate social responsibility seriously by participating. The TelePassport team made a generous donation and joined Round Table in Okahandja on 25 June to hand over blankets and food to facilities looking after needy children.
During this visit to Okahandja, the TelePassport team identified an opportunity to also help the elderly residing at the Immanuel Old Age Home. They returned to Okahandja on 28 June to hand over their donation of 40 blankets and a generous supply of food staples to the old age home. Lizane Prinsloo, marketing manager at TelePassport, noted that it was a real pleasure to see how much joy the donation brought the residents of the old age home. In addition to welcoming the donated goods the residents enjoyed having the TelePassport team as guests and the visit showed them that the Namibian community cares about the welfare of its elderly and that they are still an important part of the fabric of our society.
An Africat Experience
This year TelePassport decided to have an Africat experience. The team building was held at Okonjima Lodge, 2 ½ hours drive from Windhoek in a northern direction. On arrival we had to set up camp, get sorted and had a light lunch before we started with the activities. We were split into, Team Shilala and Team Koshi.
Even though the team spends a lot of time together at work, we still learned new things about each other. Most important, we have proven, once again, to be a strong team. We were supportive of each other, even when we had to compete against each other.
On Sunday morning, guides took the team for leopard/cheetah viewing, back to camp for a nice brunch and then on a wild dog tracking experience. Overall the team building was a huge success, enjoyed by all and memories never to be forgotten.

It was truly an unbelievable, wonderful; heart felt experience

Cell One Launch
Namibia - Blanket Drive
For the past 3 years Radio Cosmos took the initiative to collect and distribute blankets for those less fortunate that would otherwise be freezing throughout our harsh winter. At last years quest an equivalent of 7000 blankets were collected. This year – with the help of the TelePassport team and 21 other committed companies – we enthusiastically collected N$120,000 in cash and N$80,000 worth of blankets!
